1891
Brothers James and Jacob Atherton set up British Insulated Wire Company in Prescot.
1896
Established street lighting in Prescot and the first electrification of private houses, Knowsley Hall and their own house!
1902
Cables supplied to a new tram network including links from Prescot to Liverpool.
1945
British Insulated Wire Company were amalgamated with Calendar Cables from Helsby and became British Insulated Calendar Cables.
1986
Four independent BICC companies joined forces in October 1986 to form BICC Components.
2001
The Bicon brand was established to confirm the link to the BICC heritage.
2006
The Components business relocated to the Prysmian Group factory in Wrexham, North Wales.
